Default Prop Valve really required?

can you guys tell me exactly how much of a difference of putting a prop valve in is?

i recently converted to 5 lug conversion from my original dx brakes/rear drums. i got the 1" MC installed, but for the prop valve i need 40/40 from a 98-01 integra RS or 99-00' SI correct? i plan to install anyways, but i just want to know exactly why we need it? thanks HT.

It's a non-optional part. Where does most of the breaking occur in these cars? Think about it a bit and you'll get it.

yeah i know, but when i look up the stock 96 cx(my car) prop valve its the same part # as the 99-00 SI for the proportioning valve. so would i really need to change it? i'm just confused as to why they'd be the same part number that's all. i don't want to purchase if i already currently have the same P.V. in the hatch.

You cannot put a Integra prop valve in the car without custom brake lines.

And no, leave the stock prop valve in the car!

If they're the same part number, then no, you don't need to change them. The Integras and SI's weren't the only cars to come with the 40/40. For example, my 98 DX has a 40/40 from the factory.

Get blank rotors. Don't waste money on slotted or drilled rotors. If you want the technical details of why, feel free to search.

Indeed, please get blanks. More mass = less brake fade.

Never noticed and difference in stopping power/distance nor brake wear with slotted, drilled & slotted or blanks.
