Default Can't put into gear?

Started the car today, clutched down and can't put the car into gear... the clutch pedal is sticking as well. Is this a common problem or something like a clutch bearing?

The clutch pedal has been making a little noise since I got the car but recently you could hear a noise when putting it into gear and accelerating. It always happened at low rpms, i.e. under 2000-1500 rpm. Also, the car never started with the clutch pedal completely down, it had to be up a little bit.

Any help? I'm headed to work via bus so I'm in a rush. Figured I'd leave this here and perhaps get some advice/help asap. Thanks!

Could be a bad master or slave cylinder. Is the fluid level low in the reservoir?

I haven\t had the time to check. Will do when I get back. I forgot to add but it is a 1998 LX with about 230K KMs (140K miles) on the clock.

I checked the fluid level this morning and it's still good... could it be anything else?

what color is the fluid? Try pumping up the pedal and see if you can build pressure. Grab the pedal by hand and pump it to start off since you mention it sticks

If it is a bad clutch master or slave cylinder the car would roll forward if you tried to start it in gear even with the clutch down. can you put it in gear with the car off? if so put it in first gear, push clutch, start the car and see if the cars starts moving forward. if so its your clutch slave or master

So... Clutch down, put the car in first (gears move when engine is off), turned the engine on and let go of the clutch. Nothing. Car didn't choke or anything and just stayed in first. Pedal still sticks. Runs fine if I keep the clutch down as well.

Clutch gone? Transmission is gone? I'm getting pretty worried here... and I'm about to flip it out as it takes twice as long in commute with the bus than car.

If clutch was gone you would still be able to run through the gears with the car running, what happens if you try to go through the gears while its running? doesn't move at all? grinding? im gonna say you broke sumthing on the mainshaft, purely a guess seeing as car doesn't move or shift while motor is running

Sounds like the pressure plate is toast,
but there would be some grinding or conflict with the disk/plate,
bent shift fork, or something busted in that area??????????
