Default high idle on start

I changed my intake manifold because 2 of my bolts where striped and didnt hold down my injectors properly and 1 was leaking gas while i was driving. now that i got a new manifold from a junk yard i replaced just the manifold but used all my original connections on my car. but now when i start the car it starts to rev up super high. i would turn the car back off around 6 befor it would red line. i turned it off because i know it would would cause damage to my engine. does anybody have any ideas on what could be making my engine rev crazy high in neutral

If the idle just keeps climing and climing, you have a big vacuum leak somewhere. Did you scrap off your old gasket when you changed your intake manifold? Also check to see if you attached all your vac lines.

this it is

you ideally should not only scrape off all the old gasket but lightly sand both the manifold and head with 220grit then wipe down with brake clean. torque the manifold in sequence starting in the middle and working out. you also will likely want a new iacv seal. once those old ones come off the rubber is often so badly heat cycled they never seal right again. only a $2 part. same with the TB gasket, clean just like the manifold to head

Why did you replace the manifold when you couldve just replaced the studs with the ones off the new one.
