Are you talking about the squares???
If so, I've owned both a 15L7 and 12L7 (both are the older black, non-titanium colored ones). I had 1100 watts off of a Memphis St1000d going to the 15L7 in a 3.25 ft^3 slot vented box. It slammed very hard and deep !!
After hearing this set up, 2 of my buddies went this route and bought themselves each a 15L7. One of them had the same amp runing to his 15 in his G2 teg and I'm sure he was hitting high 140's, if not 150 db's because it was much louder than mine.
Anyway, the 15 and my car went to my brother, so I downsized to a 12L7. I had a Kicker-spec box made for it and pushed it with 750 watts. It was very nice, but nothing compared to the 15.
Now, I'm more into SQ, so I run a single IDMAX12.
But to answer your question, "No, Solobarics do not suck."

I said that because i've heard only 2 story from people that have had them
either they are the "the best dam speakers in the world" or "they suck they dont bump".. for some reason i think you need a lot of power for those. i heard you need one hell of an amp to pick those up...thanx for the info

sorry for the late reply I've been busy and haven't been on H-T much.. but where in SO Cali do you live? if your close maybe I can let you see how my Solobaric 12 performs... mine is the old (round) solobaric though.. not the new Square L7's....
In my other car I have the Kicker Solobaric 12" w/ a Phoenix Gold amp and it hits pretty hard IMO... my friend has 2 MTX Thunder 10's in a bandpass (mine is a single 12 in a sealed box) and he was thoroughly impressed w/ my Solobaric 12.... it hit very hard and deep IMO.. they do not suck...
