Default Interest in a 4 cylinder gamblers race

Have been talking to a few people who may be interested in hosting this so I was just seeing if there would be any interest. Basically we are talking a $500 buy in winner take all race, if we field a 16 car field thats a 8k payout plus some money from some sponsors who may be interested. The rule structure would be close to the current rules for the FIP class at IFO except 4cylinder cars only. Race would likely be somewhere between GA and NC. Its currently just an idea in the works and open to any and all feedback to get the turnout to be what it needs to be.

make it happen and the racers will show up. Keep the rule book simple and the buy in low and the payout big and you will sell it out.

Talk to cliff at ifo, maybe pigguback off of his zmax race! just an idea

SGMP in GA would be a great place to have it... Thats the best track in the south.

Actually considered talking to Craig about Zmax already but wanted to make sure we could field a class.

Was hoping for some feedback here. I don't see any Hondas in FIP at the races I have been and wanted to make sure there where some cars that would be competitive in the rules. With the current FIP rules a AWD car could run mid 8s. Hell we could look at rules similar to street fighter at Mir or anything else,.I am admittedly not too Honda savy, I know you car would be compretitive Chris but will it fit in those rules? Also probably would want to limit engine swaps to manufacture of vehicle only so someone with a glide in a RWD car didn't leave the field. Would like to see some close racing and a good turnout.

Several sponsors have offered to throw money into the pot, do you think the $500 but in is too high? If the intrest is there from racers we will make this happen but like I said we want it to be some good racing and a good turnout. By keeping it in the south tech rules are a little more lax and would help some guys a little. Not looking for a 8 second car without and safety equipment but we don't typically get hassled for wrong battery switch or stupid stuff.

I'd be interested in this. But I agree with Miller, you need to keep the rulebook simple.

Simple is great but like I said I just want to keep it fairly competitive, not 14 mid 8 second cars and 2 high 7 second ones. Less rules the better because it requires less tech and less whining, so open to any suggestions.

Then maybe just have a tire size rule 26" max, and no 1/2, 3/4, or chassis cars, that's its. That opens it up to a ton of cars. I'd say if there is a 1 second bridge between the fastest and slowest car in the class, that's pretty "fair" racing.

Not many 4 cylinder cars if any out there on a 26" tire, that are going to be dipping into the 7's. And if they are, they won't be able to do it on anything other than a PERFECTLY prepped track, and complete kill in perfect conditions and I would imagine it wouldn't get down the track every pass. You can put a 100mm turbo on the car if you think you can hook it through a 26" tall tire.

I was plaing for Z-max anyway...I think the $500 entry is a little much. Id say $200 or something like that... My own take would be, any DOT tire or 28x10.5 slick max.. I dont think i would rule out front halved or back halved cars or you have reduced the field to nothing. Id possibly be in?
