Change battery, alarm blares non stop.
Hello, pretty much sold my 94 accord and bought a new 97 one, love it its so clean and amazing but it had a bad battery so no problem just use the perfect red top from my garage I have sitting around, well I disconnected it no problem. put the new one in, ground first then i put the positive on and my alarm just BLARES.... key in the iginiton wont work hitting the key fob wont help so im pretty much clueless on what to do.... any ideas or thoughts would be of great help. I also tried taking the horn fuse out, which stoped the alarm but the car wouldnt start... so. im lost.
Interesting...I'm assuming you've checked the manual for some kind of failsafe that triggers when complete power is lost; maybe there is a type of reset for it? I've read on other forums that people unplug the ECU and it resets the alarm. But that might not be a permanent fix.
I might have to try that, this is starting to bother me. Brand new car but I cant drive it because I wanted to change the battery right when I got home... hard fail.. but I could unplug the ecu hook the battery up then reconnect it, that might work.
Is this a aftermkt. alarm? If so anything goes
you can try to hook up bat. with the key out of car if the alarm goes off try using the fob to reset it. or lock and unlock door or turn the key to on pos. Also you can a cable reset by removing the bat. and short the 2 cables together for 10 min. sorta like a reboot for a comp. good luck
