Default Oh Happy day! Ek4 nav unit is a go!

Well after some research, advice and some experimenting; I finally got the Nav unit to power on using my factory USDM radio harness. I used a T-Tap to spice into the Constant 12v, Switched 12V, Illumination, and Ground. In order to have my Sony head unit to work as well, I had to up the fuses. I then plugged each of my fabbed wires into the 8pin plug. After about 5-6 hours of trial and error, this is my end result.

I do not plan on using the HVAC controls since my car does not have working AC and Heat. The car is a garage queen and has't left it in weeks.

Pretty much. I dont have heat or AC in my car so since my climate controls are pretty much useless. So why not replace the ugly one with something a little nicer looking? Well that was my reasoning anyway. Both units are useless in my case. Just one is rare and looks pretty. Nothing but aesthetics. I wouldnt recommend this in a daily driver.

Glad you got it to work. I had a complete setup up 4 years ago and got tired of messing with it.
