Head unit ground question
I recently installed an Aiwa cd head unit in my Mazda truck, and it worked great for a few days, however now, it doesn't work at all.
I used a metra wiring harness adapter, that was hooked up to the previouse head unit( wich worked at the time I removed it )so I know that the power, speaker, and memory wiring is correct.
The only major difference in the installs, is that I moved the head unit from the factory location( below the dash ), to a pocket that is under the AC vents( in the dash ). The only difference in the wiring is the ground location, I moved it from the floor board to a factory ground in the dash. The in dash ground appears to be for the climate controls.
I had no problems until around 5 days after instalation. Then, whenever I turned on my AC, my head unit would lock up like a PC( same reading as if it was playing the cd, just not playing.....track counter just stopped)
When I would turn off the AC it would resume from where it had locked up.
Alas, now I don't even get that response, just nothing. All fuses are good, and the deck will still eject the cd I left in it, but nothing else, no radio, cd, or aux. input
Is this related to the ground? I haven't had time to take it back apart and check, but does that sound right, or is the head unit just DOA?

that could definitely be something with the ground, best thing to do is try to ground it in different areas where you see bare metal
if it still doesn't work, then it would be your deck
if it still doesn't work, then it would be your deck
