Default Need help with EGR vacuum control and solenoid diagnosis

Car: 94 Honda Accord

Problem: CEL code 12, EGR problem.

I took it out of the car. Using a power probe, I applied 12v to the connector. I didn't hear of feel anything moving or being activated. My question: what should happen when 12v is applied to it? Thank you for any help.

When u apply power to the silinoid u should get vaccume from yhe hose thats connected to the egr lift sensor ontop on the egr valve. Also a easier way to see if its working is pull the hose and put you finger on it while a friend revs the car. The egr only kicks in from 1800 rpm to about 3000rpm i think. I would suggest doing a whole egr system clean. Valve, passage and ports on intake manifold. Code 12 is lift sensor i beleive thou. Sometimes the hoses are just plugged up with a pieces or carbon or dirt.
