Default 97 Civic HX Swap questions

Hi, im wanting to put a d16y8 into an hx. Ive done some online reseach and everyone seems to just put the y8 head on the y5. Im wanting to just replace the whole motor believe to have a cracked piston (motor is eating oil at pepboys it says im missing on all four cyclinders..Replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap; idle is still low and am at a loss of power if anyone can help me fix that for the time being it would be appreciated) . Im new to this and have never swapped a motor; whats needed to do the swap? I couldnt find if it was obd1 or 2 either. Also any other motor recommendations? was thinking about a z6 but there a little harder to find. Im on a bit of a limited budget so please keep that in mind. Thanks for yalls time hope to hear back from you.

Should be plug and Play but you'll have some plugs left over (EGR). Also run a P2P ecu. Does your HX have the 5 wire primary o2?

So aftrr reading some of the really nice faqs, I learned that the hx tranny kinda blows lol, so that being said since im pulling or dropping the motor out anyway, should I change out the trannsmission for that of the y8? How diffiicult will thay be or what would I need to make that work? Also the clutch in my hx is like new could I put that on the y8 trans or should I kust get a new one.. Anyone in the greenville area wann help lol.

Yes everything from the transmission part will swap over.

Also for the O2 these two links might help

1.8 doesn't automatically mean B-series.
