Default Small notch in my front LCA, this bad?

I recently removed the front control arm bushings in order to install poly bushings.

In order to remove 2 particular bushings, I used a band saw to cut the small oem bushing ring, but I accidentally cut into the lower control arm leaving a notch.

The poly bushing fits just fine, but I don't know if the notch will negatively affect the bushing. I planned on just sanding it smooth and being done with it. Any advice at this point would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Pics coming soon...

Sanding it smooth will remove even more material, which might allow the new bushing to have slop/play.

I'd replace the arm. If you decide to use it damaged, I'd recommend either leaving it as is or filling the cut with a metallic epoxy.

Kinda depends on how big of a notch you put in there, but I would just round the corners/edges of the notch so that it doesn't tear up the bushing and/or promote a crack and run it (if its superficial).

Just leave it if it's just a scratch and next time use a press

How big of a notch is it?

I cut a very small notch in one mine, everything appears to be just fine.

Hey guys. Sorry for the late reply. I ended up just filling in the notches with jb weld, and then sanding it even. Worked like a charm; a big fan of JB weld now

Got my bushings in no problem. Can't wait to bolt these 99 Si LCA's

Thanks again for all your inputs
