Hi there, I'm new here and in need of some much needed help.

I have a 1992 civic cx hatchback.

I've been doing some research for the past couple of days trying to figure out how my hood release cable goes in before I try and install it. Everywhere I have looked they say the cable goes from the latch over the driver headlight assembly and down the fender.

Now I don't know if its the same in all cars but in mine the cable from the latch goes towards the passenger side. And its very confusing trying to understand how its supposed to work to go towards the driver side.

Also my new hood latch is designed the same way. and I don't know if it matters but my car was assembled in Canada. I can also provide pictures if needed. Please any help is greatly appreciated.

so it is best to remove the grill then?

 

If it goes towards the passenger side it's probally been moved so no one can cut the line through the fender and pop your hood to get to the battery if there was an alarm. If you want it stock, look up ab0ve 92-95 civic. There's a service manual PDF you can use to put it back in place. I own the same model and trim you do. All 92-95 civics have the hood release cable in the same place. From the latch, through the firewall, down the fender then to the hood release.
