Hi HT,

I have a 1993 Honda Del sol Si that doesn't start. When I turn the key it's silent besides the humming of the fuel. Some days it will randomly start though. Anyways it has a CEL code 6 (ECT sensor). To my embarassment I'm having trouble locating the actual engine coolant temperature sensor. Today I pulled out what I thought was the ECT sensor (green antifreeze started gushing out when I pulled it). And I bought a replacement at Advance Auto parts. But the two parts look very different. The replacement doesnt even fit where the original was.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is did I pull out the wrong sensor or purchase the wrong replacement?

you got the right one
the one you pulled is the fan switch
look for another 2 wire mostly found on the side of the head
near the dizzy
