93 del sol/dz16z6 swap - CEL code 4/CKP sensor problem after swap
before removing, it ran fine, now it shows crankshaft position sensor. i found that its missing the clip under the engine mount, the sensor is there though, but i cant find anything thats not clipped in, and therefore it gets to 3500rpm and bogs hella. where does the clip originate? all pics ive seen on the engine harness show no clip that connects to it, and everything other thing is hooked up right... so where does it initially come from? im having trouble tracing it, or finding its point of origin, since maybe i made a mistake and missed it altogether somehow...

Re: del sol dz16z6 help
ok, i know the location of the sensor. i know that the car runs funky. i know that there is NOT a clip running to the sensor whatsoever. im looking for where the wire that runs to the sensor originates so that i may be able to trace the missing sensor, and actually not have issues. the sensor is NOT the issue. the clip is.

What year Del Sol? Any mods?
CEL code 4, right? The CKP sensor is inside the distributor.
If something is missing, post pictures.

Re: del sol dz16z6 help
On the intake there are 2 plugs that are the same like by the throttle ,they get swapped all the time and make it run funny. Try that ,good luck

Re: del sol dz16z6 - CKP sensor problem
well, it is a 93 del sol, that originally had the 1.5. someone else swapped the d16 in. ran fine. took it out, put back in, and now im getting the 4. its inside the dist? i found a sensor under the drivers engine mount that isnt connected to anything. if its inside the distributor, then what the heck do i have going on?

dont have the equipment to do the check. it tore into the distributor, and see nothing that would resemble a ckp

Do you know what a CKP sensor looks like?
Get a multimeter. It's not very expensive. You are unlikely to be able to spot a bad CKP sensor by eye.
If the sensor resistance is fine, then use the multimeter to check for an open or short in the wires.

You're going to have to be a lot more specific and you're also in the wrong forum. Like what ecu, distributor? Did you use a distributor and ecu adapter?

Ok, my set up is. 1991 Crx si , obd0- obd1 jumpers on ECU && dizzy. P28 manual ecu,HF engine harness , and d15 tranny. My problem is: when I go to turn on my car its takes a few cranks to get it started , once it starts it idles rough about 600-1100 rpm , then when I give it gas it sometimes bogs out and can't even rev past 3000rpm. I clean out my IACV and swapped maps around and nothing . I also tried taking off my ecu jumper harness to run the stock PM6(withCEL indicator) to read the codes and I'm getting a code 4 and 16 .which are CKP and faulty injector. Any help? Please...

*****s tryin to spot bad sensors by eye XD
But really, you need to get a multimeter and check continunity to the ECU and check resistance on the sensor itself. if you have no clip at all going to the sensor... then you need to get a new one that has a clip.
