can you weld a crack in a exhaust manifold? better yet shouold you ?

you can but it will be a temporary band aid, might as well upgrade to a better flowing unit or just find a good used one that has no cracks from a parts yard if your on a budget.

bought a brand spanking new one today. going to attempt it tonight. seems simple enough that i can do it. do i really need to put it on jacks to do it?

if you have ramps you can do it that way, but it wouldbe a real headache to get it without getting it up in the air.
