whats the cost of beefing up my soch d16z6 engine?
i am looking to run a respectable amount of boost and was wondering how much it costs to have someone put in the following, hopefully all at once but might not be.
1. forged pistons and rods
2. new camshaft
3. new valves, valve springs, retainers, and all the valvetrain stuff.
4. a new crankshaft(do i really need this?).
i figure if i got the above i could run a fairly high amount of boost and maybe some speed in a bottle. how much would i have to pay a mechanic to do this? i don't think i could do all this myself but i could do some of the things. thanks!
ps i can figure the prices of the parts all i wanna know is how much it costs to put 'em in.

I dont know about the crankshaft but you don't need a performance cam for turbo. Too much overlap is not good at all.
Sorry but I dont know prices for you...havent looked into all that yet. If you've got a low mileage engine with good maintanence you can run a good amount of boost on stock internals. I would build the block just to be safe though.

well i have 93k miles but the engine has been taken care of really well. i think i could safely run a moderate 6# or so boost.
I know of a few running 13psi on a well tuned SOHC FMAX kit with 90k+ miles. You could do 7-9 easily.
