ok, are you going to keep the car OBD0? if so, you'll need the 90-91 LS ecu. if you can find a 90-91 b18 distributor, that would also be ideal..your b16 distributor will work, but only 1 bolt will line up. also if going the obd0 route you will want to put your b16 injectors into the b18 intake manifold..don't forget to put new injector seals on, as those b16 ones are prolly old and weak. your b16 mounts will definately work, you might have to use the b16 driver's side engine mount bracket. you may also have to change your thermostat housing from the b16, not sure what your setup looks like, but it may be necessary. use the b16 tranny and clutch/fly. everything should plug in and bolt up..your b16 exhaust manifold should be fine.

the other option is to convert your car to odb1..but i'm not to familiar w/ that so i'll let someone else speak up, but i know you'd use the b18 injectors and dizzy. good luck man..hth.

i guess im going to have to keep it obd-0 since i also know nothing about wiring i had to use the place racing conversion on my b16 setup .. do you think it would be better to use the whole TB and intake many from the b16?

the b16 intake manifold won't bolt up to the b18b head.

also, the TBs should be the same size. you'll probably have to use the b18 TB as the b16 fast idle valve is part of the b16 manifold, if i remember correctly. you can use the b18's TB mounted map sensor, you might have to get creative with the rest of the vac lines.

sorry to be a pain in the ace so its pretty much a straight swap since i have the b16 in there it makes it alil easier! .. but just to double check does all the wiring and pulgs match and do i use the LS ecu or a different one? like an older LS one

i just need to make sure cuz its my only car and i dont wanna mess somthing off and wait 3 months like my first swap

oops just saw my question about the ecu now i just need to make sure the wiring will be cool

yeah bud..i pulled my 1st gen b16 for a 99 b20..very similar swap. as long as you are using your obd0 electronics (distributor, injectors) everything will plug in.

won't you have less power if you run OBD-0? and if it is a 98 then he would change it to OBD-2 if he didn't stay OBD-0.

i thought that obd-0 is better then the rest since they were pretty much made to constrict power and save gas and emmitions but i could be wrong

First of all, there is no such thing as OBD0. What Honda people call OBD0 (white plugs) is really an earlier version of OBDI. 'OBDI' (1992-1995) ECUs are just a refinement of 'OBD0' (1988-1991) ECUs. They do not restrict power. And, in this case, you would be better off using one since they have more appropriate fuel maps for the motor. On the other hand, OBDII is something to stay away from if you want power. OBDII does indeed restrict power output. It also stores codes, even after disconnecting battery power. And OBDII ECUs are much more likely to give a check engine light after performing a mod.
