Default 99 civic si swap

I bought a 99 civic si and pooched the engine. I got a JDM VTECH D16AY7 engine and tranny cheap that I want to throw in since this will be a winter car for my skyline. Just wondering what else I will need. Are the ecus the same? I'm hoping I can just drop the engine out and stick this one in.
can someone help me out ASAP please

That engine doesn't exist. Look at the block and see what engine code it is

Pics of the engine would be better

I'm looking up details. Question? Did you not check into this prior to purchasing the engine?

From what I can see its the same as the usdm d16z6 I don't care what it takes to swap I will do it so I bought it cause it was cheap. So now I'm just wondering what exactly it will require to swap because if it comes with the ecu it will most likely be RHD if it doesn't I need to know what one to pick up at the local wreckers

I have a JDM engine in my hatch. There was no "converting" from LHD to RHD. I don't think engines are RHD. And I don't think you're getting the ECU with it. And this is OBD2a so it can't be similar to a Z6 otehr wise I would have said to use a P28.

D16a7 should be basically the same motor as a D16a6, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have VTEC

Nope, not even close. The JDM single cam ZC motor is the same as our Z6.

It will physically fire it up, but you'll be throwing codes since they're not the same OBD revision, and the P2T will be looking for sensors the motor doesn't have. I'd try to source a d16a6 ecu I guess. Honestly, I don't know what to tell you.

Call your engine people. That's what we did. If they're worth their salt they should be able to answer your questions. I'm not finding much on this engine. or even this swap in general.
