Icon2 99-00 oem radio in 96-98

hey h-t i just bought a 99-00 civic radio with the built in cd player i think its the em1 one so wat is needed to put it in my 97 civic ex

sry let me explain more it has a after market sony rdio but i belaeve the harness was not cut

OP, seriously, just unplug the Sony and plug in the EM1 radio. Same harness and all.

I believe the factory radio harness plugs are different between 96-98 and 99-00 radios if I remember correctly...

Actually, you could be right. I keep looking at adapters and some say that they are different at the year change but a lot are claiming compatibility up through the change years into the 7th gen. So the info is conflciting. And although I have two Civics they are 96 & 97.

OP better check a wiring diagram to make sure prior to purchasing anything.

99+ hondas use a diffrent plug so it will not plug right into you 96-98...
you can either go to junkyard and search for a plug from a 99+ car or go to dealer to get a radio pigtail plug new
