d16z6 motor harness help
I have a z6 in my hatch but the motor harness is jacked up I have another harness but it's obd1 non vtec I'd like to convert it to plug into the obd0 plugs on the shock tower. I donot need to tranz plugs hooked up because im useing stock tranz with the cable speedo. if it can be done I would like to know how.
It can be done.
It's a nightmare if you aren't good with wiring.
There aren't any schematics are write-ups on the internet for this so you are on your own.
You will need to trace every wire on the engine harness and label it so you know where it goes.
Then you do the same for the shock tower plugs.
Solder the OBD1 shock tower plug to the appropriate wire (some may be needed to extend to the driver side of the car at the other OBD0 plug) and there you go.

there isn't any diagram for the obd1 motor harness shock tower plugs anywhere online? kinda hard to belive. if I get the diagram for both obdo and obd1 shock tower plugs I think I can just remove the plug and put a obdo plug on the obd1 harness and use z6 injectors and I will not need the resistor ( in theory)
I'm sure you can get the schematic for both.
I meant that there isn't a walk-thru for the conversion similar to what you can find for doing DPFI to MPFI

you cant just depin and call it a day. if you pay close attention you will notice the EVAP and MAP sensor wiring is also integrated into the OBD1 harness. it can be done like 4drEF said, but if your not familiar or comfortable with wiring you will mess up your car beyond repair.
i am new at this ive been working hard on this car for two years learning all i can wiring is my next step even if it means i have to make a complete harness from scratch. I did notice that they were on the harness I hooked the whole harness up on my spare z6 w/tranny and compared to the obdo>obd1 harness/jumper in my ef hatch there are a few differances like the vss and tak (i think) plugs on the tranz and the two sensors u mentioned on the intake mani compared to the firewall but it's not so outrageously diferant tht it's crazy dificult. I'm planning keeping everything where it is basickly converting the obd1 harness to mimic the obdo harness just need to know what wires to put into what spot on obdo shock tower plug mainly cuz im lazy and dont want to trace wires. I have a spare obdo harness that has been torn apart so I have all the plugs I need I'm not messing with the one on the car just want to see if I can make my own tht isn't missing heat sensor plugs and alot cleaner maybe make the new harness to tuck just looking for advice and help not looking for a dont do it responce maybe do a write up on it when done and tested thanks for the replys guys I understand I could possibly f somethin up if wired wrong I guess I'll just strip both harnesses out and trace and label both all the way to the shock tower plugs then cut and soder will take pics of progress plz post if u have something that may help thx
