Building Block Soon...Help & Suggestions!
Hello H.T. members,
I own a 1994 4 Dr Integra GSR, basically all stock with 252,000 miles on the original motor, mild rebuild was done at 150,000 miles, got new heads about 8 months ago, and now I think its that time for a new motor over all...
I've just purchased a bare B18C1 block that's been bore and hone. It's going to be my project for the next couple of months. I'm just going to do the lower part of the engine for now and just want to know what other parts I need, here's a list of what I've got so far:
- Using a spare GSR crank (going to get it machined/resurfaced) or SHOULD I UPGRADE?
- OEM Type R piston/rings (81.25mm)
- ACL bearings
- Golden eagle rods (5.394 inches, came with ARP bolts)
- Oil/Water pump
- ARP head stud
- Timing belt
- Gasket kit
That's pretty much all I've purchased since I'm low on cash. I'm shooting for ALL MOTOR!!! My mechanic (my uncle) and I will be doing the work... What else will I need? Searched for articles and found some that helped alot, but if I missed one please direct me too it! I'm open to any suggestions!!!
Thanks!!!

Make sure your p2w clearance and ring gap are good. Check bearing clearances twice and make sure everything's good. Use the gsr crank. You do know the pistons will have to be modified to use those rods right?
Yeah, we're going to check a bunch of times. And "NO" I didn't know they had to be modified! I got them for "FREE" when I purchased the block. What would I need to do to them!?!
