help me with my gsr block rebuild
so after 160.XXX miles the block of my gsr finnally gave up
compression its awfull specially in piston #3 and im going to rebuild the block this winter with forged internals for boost .
hp goals would be around 350 - 400 whp
And so far i got for the rebuild : wiseco pistons bored .25 over , eagle rods, new oil pump, arp head and pistons studs ;ACL rod bearings, oem not the race spec bearings
im also going to get the crank balanced and micropolished once i have it apart.
But this is my first rebuild and i dont really know what other important parts or necessary upgrades im forgeting about
TIA

Re: (Schister66)
i already got the ARP head studs,
will the overbored block will be able to stand 400 whp?
Or is it convinient just to save for a resleeved block from camp 1320?

Re: (ghostrider dc2)
I'm rocking around 400 whp daily driven, stock sleeves but everything else is forged.
LEt me tell you, every night I don't sleep well cause I didn't buy a sleeved block.
I already blew one block after a dyno session, street tunning due to a injector failure and maybe a sleeved block would have been fucked in that situation also, but maybe not.......
I know its a lot of $$ but in hindsight the peace of mind is worth it.
It seems like around 400-450whp, the stock sleeves hold.....but not for long.....

I just can't see the justification in a sleeved block. With a great tune and brand new injectors you shouldn't have issues on stock sleeves. I plan to rock 350whp daily driven on stock sleeves until a sleeve gives up then have it sleeved.
If I made a lot of money I would have had Earl sleeve it but I make $12/hr so i couldn't and there are so many people on here on stock sleeves so I feel pretty good.
I believe anything above 375whp is a tad much for a street car, I could be wrong.
i think your gonna be good with your setup, heres mine:
82mm GSR
9:1 JE pistons
Eagle rods
ACL standard bearings
Golden Eagle Headgasket 82mm
Stock GSR head
Golden Eagle cam seal
Cam Gears
ARP head studs
XTD stage 3 clutch/flywheel
