Default Combustion chamber volume, stock d16z6 head

Looked all over, lot's of information...all over the place.

It seems that people are of the impression (if you had to pick an average) the the volume is possibly 34.6cc. I measured a head we just picked up at 30.5cc

as you can imagine, I need to know if 34.6cc is the stock combustion chamber size.

I don't want to shave an already shaved head... that's what I'm up against.

Any help appreciated.

There's a way to measure head thickness in a spot to determine if it's been shaved. It's in the OEM Honda service manual

That's from the Honda factory manual. Sorry for the sideways photo, I'm on my phone.

nope. can't read it. Who knows, maybe it's a monitor setting. all I see is some blurry text. I can make out every other word and what looks like a head.

In the corner of the head there is a register for measuring head mill, looks like a pocket with a raised circle in it. From the head gasket surface to the raised circle should be .035" for a stock surface, if the raised circle is gone completely your in the 0.075 territory for head mill.

This is one of my old A6 heads with 0.080 (2mm) mill, notice in the upper left hand corner the register is completely gone.
