when in reverse and hitting the throttle, idle drops, car bogs down, almost dies ?
'91 CRX DX, 5-spd ..
going into reverse is fine, but when trying to back up while hitting the throttle and slowly engaging the clutch - the car begins to bog down, idle drops to near zero. To counter this, I hit the throttle harder, same thing happens. Lately I have to rev to about 3000 in reverse so that the car will not have a drop in rpms and so that it reverses smoothly. No motor swap, no engine mods, no CEL, reverse lights turn On when in reverse like usual. Started happening about 2 weeks ago, and slowly getting worse. And only happens when in reverse, all other gears are fine. It feels as though it's getting less air or less fuel, but only in reverse?
What could it be ?
