Story:
so the car was running all perfectly fine. One day my gf's dad integra (same year/model) died out on him at work . I knew it could be a few things that could be wrong from what he described.I removed my distributor and main relay and used it in his car. everything started up and we drove his teggy back home. (i drove there in my crx)

I brought his old distributor home and put in a new coil. tried it on my integra and all it did was crank. i checked if there was spark and it did have spark. I had thought maybe this distributor was just plain-Jain bad. So i took my distributor back from the gf's dad integra. Does the same thing. Now I am confused because all i did was just removed the distributor and relay.

I have changed the spark plugs to new ngk's , wires, switched main relay with known working one and checked timing.

It has spark, fuel, sounds like it has compression( dont have tool to check for compr)..
what could it be? I am getting frustrated with this car because i just bought it. help anyone?


Just because people like pictures, here is the integra thats giving me problems.

 

how much time had lapsed between when you'd tried with your gf's dad's distributor and then installed yours?
how did you check fuel?

 

well before i removed my distributor, the car sat for about a week. after it being removed, maybe about 2-3 weeks. during the 3rd week, i have been trying to get it to work. its now going on the 4th week.

I smelled fuel. after trying to start the engine, i removed the spark plugs and smokes of fuel arose and my nose took a whiff of its odor.

Any other help?

 

tried checking codes? check them regardless of whether the cel is illuminated

 

anymore inputs from others?
