Ok so my friends LS build just got finished and the first 100 miles we drove around to break it in had a very minimal amount of light blue smoke which is normal for break-in then the more he drove,the more smoke it produced.It Never overheated and was running and idling fine.Then last night he drove it just a few miles and it started to overheat so he shut down the car till it cooled then continued home.First thing he did was check the oil to make sure it wasn't the head gasket and from what he could tell there is no mixing of the oil and coolant,the radiator was a little low but we drove it for 120 straight miles the first night without any hiccups.It's also starting to smoke more.When under acceleration it has the same light blue smoke but when you let off the throttle is starts to produce a white smoke Only when the engine is decelerating I've listed the build spec's below it's nothing crazy if anyone has any idea's I'd be more then happy to hear them

On a Street Tuned ECU for this build

 

check valve seals could be leaky for tht blue smoke, as far as the overheat i dont think it could have done damage if he caught it in time .

 

i had a gsr tht would throw alittle blue smoke when i would press on the gas hard i figured it was the rings but thank goodness it was my vale seals

 

Did he bother checking piston to wall and ring gap clearances?

 

if he didnt tht would suck so bad lol

 

Soooo turned out the Head gasket blew out between a Oil and Coolant passage and because of a shitty PCV valve it was leaking into the intake Problem solved.Thanks for the help
