Default Help! 96 Del Sol Idle Dip!

i have a 96 del sol and when i turn on my head lights the idle dips down around 200 rpms. then when i drive with the head lights on, coming to a stop, "clutch in and shift to nuetral" the rpms dip down to around 300-400 once in awhile. only does this when car is warm/hot. my alternator seems fine and same with the battery. aslo cleaned throttle body and iacv but still no luck. any ideas? also i have MSD ignition coils, caps and wires. the cap zaps me.. any help is appreciated!!

Test the charging system with key on you should get 12 volts with it running should be around 14 volts, seems fine is not testing.

Pull this useless mass of trash off your car. That it shocks you doesn't give you cause for alarm? That sound right to you?

Sometimes wires and not sheilded properly or say old wires will cause electrical issues. When I had my car say 50k miles (fairly new) turned on the wipers or rear defroster my idle would dip, I changed out my wires and the problem went away.

could my msd ignition or bad wires be causing this problem? because when the car is cold, its running fine.. so im assuming it has something to do with being in closed loop? also when i disconnected iacv with car running, idle did not change but instead CEL came on and i got multiple misfires and IACV.

Pull the MSD stuff revert back to stock, esp the wires.

Really sounds like the cap/wires.

okay so i checked the cap, wires and distributor, the rotor was ****ed. replaced it but still didnt fix my problem, however i discovered when the headlights and fan were on full blast, the alternator voltage drops down to 12.8 and stays there for awhile. could this problem be my charging system? with no electrical load, it would read 14 or 13.9

There is a chance a problems with the alternator itself, can you swap it? Might a load issue.

dont have a spare alternator or find a used one around and a brand new one cost 300.

hmm i did some searches and thought would a dirty map sensor cause this idle dip or a faulty vss??

What worries me the drop in voltage that is a load issue not a MAP issue. You did the test running access, with the lights on and say rear defroster should still stay strong at 14 volts, this with the car running not just key on.
