heelllllpppp ..so ive been in the honda game for 10years ish.... and ran into a stumper tonight... my brother picked up a 91 crx w a jdm b18 in it... car has run great last 2 days of owning it so i finally broke down and told him i was going to "wash it for him " lol wanted to take it out for a lil beat session.. warmed the car up before taking it out.. put it in reverse and lost tach signal and car idled like it had a bad iac.... shut the car off cel was on and idled fine... hmmmmm so like a dumb *** instead of checking cel i just ran it up the roadto the car wash. went like 2 miles to the highway . no vtec? confused got to the car wash washed teh car ... starded up no cel still goofy idle in reverse ( and reverse only) and no vtec but no cel.. any ides has anyone run into anything like this before? and help would be aprreciated... car is showing coolant temp. oil has just been changed level is ok . tach working in forward gears no issue but still no vtec

cam back on... cel 6... def a short to ground did it again unplugged reverse switch and all ok so gotta start tracing wires tonight

 

is this CRX by chance the HF model? if so, go to the ECU and cut or depin the wire that goes to ECU pin B9 (green with black stripe) - this will get rid of the problem it has when in reverse
