Default No start after taking off the cap

So I removed my cap to inspect it to hopefully figure out why my car was stumbling but I put the cap back on and it wouldn't start. The car is getting fuel and getting spark. The ignitor has a burn spot on it. But if the ignitor was bad I wouldn't have spark. Any suggestions?

Did you put the wires back in the correct locations on the cap?

check your codes.

and how does the spark look? is it thick, and bright blue?
did you do anything else at all between the time it started and the time it didn't?

I only have code 7. Which is related to the tps. I did nothing except take the cap off look at the inside of it and put it back on.

The spark was thin and like it was barely there and it was a whiteish blue

So I'm pretty sure my plugs are fouled. Would these plugs be accetable? They are one of the 4 different types on ngk's website.

Never a good sign.
Also if you seen the ICM you most have removed more then just the cap.

I would pull the cap again and insure all connections to ICM and coil are secure, [on properly and tight]. 94

and the tps code was there before? i wouldn't think that tps issues would cause a no start. but try unplugging it and see if it at least fires up

but it sounds more like an issue with your distributor. can you get a hold of a test unit?

Plugs were fouled so I bought new plugs and it still just cranks. Ignition coil was replaced yesterday. I get fuel, spark, air and my timing is good. Any ideas guys? I'm leaning towards just buying a new distributor but I really don't have $200 to blow on one.

Are you saying you now have good spark?

If so, try this, pull all the spark plugs and let the cylinders "dry out", the constant trying to start the engine has most likely "washed" the cylinders and compression will be very low.

Allow the cylinders to air out, then drop in a little oil into each cylinder and turn the engine over a few times, using a bypass jump, [do not turn on the ign.] reinstall the plugs and see if it will fire up. 94
