Default did i fry my ignition coil?

i was doing a compression check and left the wire plugged into the distributor and didnt unplug the distributor and now it wont start? how could i check if the coil is bad?

Sounds like you fried the dizzy. If you remove it and open it up, there is a place where you can put a voltmeter to check. Ill look it up and edit
EDIT: I Think spec is 0.6-0.8 ohms

well im an idiot and i realized the first time i checked the compression i had 3 wires in and connected to plugs while i checked one cylinder at a time, and i didnt even have the throttle open i really think i fried something :\

Only one way to know! Follow the steps.. or check randomly and end up at the same place or starting at step one anyway.

that coil test isn't always accurate. if you do a compression test and don't unhook the distributor you will fry the coil, not the whole distributor. go to vatozone and buy a $20 cheapie, pop it in and go.

There's only one practical way: Look at it.

You cannot test the coil with a multimeter. And there is a good chance you've killed your coil.

ive never replaced a ignition coil is it pretty simple?
