225/45/15 on 15x6 +45 offset - 96-00 EK - will it rub?
All stupidity of running a 225/45/15 on a 15x6 aside. Will it rub? I'm thinking the rear will rub. Before I go and mount the beggers and check does anyone have any experience? Search says 15x7 +45 wheels fit without rubbing but nothing on 15x6's (because it is a stupid idea.. yes. I know).
it most likely will, my 215/45/16 rubbed horribly, i did some nasty things to my fenders to make them fit, and i had to take out my fender liner which i regret... but now i'm running 225/50/16 star specs and about -1.5 of camber and it's not rubbnig too bad.. it actually rubbed more with more camber, i was about -2.5 before..
it also depends on how low you are.. anywho i hope that helps

Hmm. I'm rockin 215/45/16, with fender lines and no roll. Perhaps I had it just lucky. But 225/45/15 16 WILL rub without some changes. But not on the JDM front end DC1

if you need them, below cost, I have a beautiful pair of new 4x100 15mm Aluminum Wheel Spacers perfect fitment to Civic. I bought four and only needed the two on the front. pm me if interested, pix available.

I have a 15x8 +36 and ran 225's and didn't rub.
Based on this offset calculator, yours shouldn't rub either

I have 225/45/15s on my 15X6.5 +38 RC-G4s on my ITR. I had to add quite a bit of neg camber up front (which is what I wanted anyway since I track the car). I'm running 205 ADVAN AD08s out back. Those run about 213mm wide...so it's not a big difference. I had to add a tiny bit of neg camber out back as well. Not as much as you'd think. With 225s, I'd have to camber it in about another 6mm up top. IDK how many degrees that is because my calculator is upstairs.
I'm going to get it aligined in the morning and I'll let you know how the angles turned out.
You haven't mentioned using a camber kit to get everything to fit. Are you?

And here it comes , all the hellaflush and monster camber peeps. Don't worry just bang the crap out of the fenders and bend the knuckles and grind whatever is on the way.
Sorry I just tought this was a the road racing and time attack section.

Lol...my cars have usable camber angles for the track. I'm in no way associated with anything hella flush.
To the other fellow telling me not to do it because it won't work and the world will end - you can read my first post.
To the rest - thanks for the feedback. I'm going to give it a try and see. Stock wheel size rule in class. We'll see what happens.
225/45R15 does NOT fit on a 6 inch rim period so whats the conversation about. Another thing to consider, the thread on a 225 is going to be 225mm wide whether it's a 6, 6.5, or 7 inch wheel so the question is a little ridiculous based on that alone. Hell I ran a 205/50R15 on my stock 15x6 and they were not happy let alone adding another inch of tire. In short it's a bad idea, don't do it.
Thanks for contributing nothing to the thread mate.

you're just going to have to put them on to find out, and find out by putting load on the tires by making hard turns.
i ran 205/55/14 on a 5" wide rim. it was fine going straight, but putting a good load on the tires and having them flex, they rubbed. they rubbed the rta's, and the inner fender well in the front as well.
*** should note, if this is for racing, you'll be fine. just monitor how much rubbing is accruing between your tire and what ever is rubbing.

Now if you really want to know , google tire size calculator or something like that and I'm sure you will find if your tire fits .
Again this is road racing and parking lot go fast forum.
I assume this is for autocross and these are Hoosiers you plan to use? I think you'll find the stock offset is +50, but it's possible you've already attributed the 1/4" spacer to that offset number. Not sure what rule set you use that allows fender rolling and removing of liners but requires stock wheel size. If you're using SCCA stock class rules, those things aren't permitted. Finally, you should run a 225 front, 205 rear. With a quarter inch spacer, those will clear everything on EG/EK/DC chassis Honda/Acura with stock suspension geometry.
< - Will be running 225/205 Hoosiers on 15x6 wheels on a DS Teg, and will probably try the 275/35/15 fronts at some point too. Yes, on a 15x6 wheel. No, the world will not end because of this.

anyway, you can make it work but unless you're limited by the rules i'd at least mount 225 on at 7" rim. 8 or 9" is far better for proper support.
in short, yeah it'll rub some where, and depending on your spring rate, probably a lot of places lol. but you can make it work.
EXGR - Thanks very much. I came across a smoking deal on some 225's and only have a spare set of 15x6 blades laying around that I can put them on for my occasional use time attack mobile. I'd buy myself a set of new wheels that were far more properly size but the racing budget doesn't allow for that.
Solo-X - I read the huge thread that you participated in where you advocated for offset sizes. That'd be a valid concern for me if I hadn't of already snagged a fantastic deal on these tires. Thanks for your valuable input sir.
