Civic 1999 SI oem equipment 15" wheel 6" wide and 45 offset with 195/55/15 this is the tire calculator here at the shop.
You can also try tire rack calculator. In my EK I run 235/40/17 and they don't rub.
So there is your answer.
And my wheels are 7" wide by HC2 rules. We have guys running 245 on 7" wheel.

some of the cop-wannabe forum members here really likes to get on ppl's case for running too wide or too narrow of a rim. they cry if ppl stretch 195 on 9" rims, and they cry again if ppl put 275 on 6" (i think i heard ppl do that, right?? lol).

i'm just glad these cop-wannabe are limited to being forum po po's cuz if they are really in any position with power they are probably totally a$$holes about things.

This is my past experiences on my 93 Civic Si, 91 Civic Si, and 2000 Civic Si.

15x6" (stock OEM Si wheels) with 205/50x15" Azenis didn't rub.
15x7" Kosei K1 44mm offset with 205/50x15" Azenis didn't rub on my 00 Civic Si but did rub on my 93 and 91.
15x7" Kosei K1 44mm offset with 225/45x15" Hoosier A4s didn't rub on all my Civics.
15x7" Enkei RPF1s 41mm offset with 205/50x15" Azenis rubbed on all my Civics lightly
16x7.5" Kosei K1s (forget offset) with 215/40x16" Yokohamas didn't rub but the gearing was really messed up
16x7.5" Kosei K1s with 215/45x16" with really worn Azenis rubbed lightly on my 91 Civic Si and 00 Civic Si. Gearing was too tall.
16x7.5" Kosei K1s with 205/45x16" with new Azenis didn't rub
16x7.5" Kosei K1s with 205/40x16" Toyo Fz4s didn't rub (obviously)

All my Civics had about -2.5 to -2.8 negative camber on the fronts and dropped 2-2.5".

another factor when fitting a tire is the sidewall profile. Its easier to stretch a 225/55 on a 6" rim than a 225/45. Where it rubs on the car will depend on your alignment, ride height, spring rate and chassis stiffness. I say dont worry about it for the most part, one thing to watch for is the upper frame rail seam, you dont want that sucker cutting into the tire if you are braking hard and hit a nasty bump.

FWIW I run a 225/50/16 on a 16X7 + 35 on my moderately lowered 2000 coupe. she rubs like a hooker and I love every minute of it

your hooker rubs you? which street corner is this? most hookers i dated have no such service. ;-) >_< i don't like my tires to rub. i'm ordering the Eastwood fender rolling kit and offering the service to my customers since a lot of them are into the hellaflush/stance crap. :-)

Ah sorry forgot to mention yes I rolled (not with a roller) the fenders on my 00 and 93. Not my 91. I just bent the small lip back a bit and tucked the fender liner.

lol they (the tires) rub hard at autocross going into hairpins, and rub slightly around town in tight corners where the streets are really rough, which is basically everywhere. its just the price you gotta pay when you try to make lots of grip in a car designed to run on pizza cutters. unless of course you were to drastically widen the fenders and increase track width. and no, im not a "hella flush" kinda guy. its the function im after, not the form.
that being said, the eastwood roller is very nice, as are all eastwood tools. Its what I used to stretch the fenders as much as possible. lastly, that pic looks like he is rolling a Bel Air fender which kinda makes me cringe lol

I just mounted my 275 Hoosiers up on my stock 15x6 +50 ITR wheels. The world should be ending shortly.
