Mileage between filling the tank? D16y8
So I'm getting no more than like 215 miles between tank fill ups. It's a 96 ex civic 5 speed. All stock for the most part. Stock intake box. Stock exhaust system. 119k on the dash. My automatic 90 ef civic dpfi got like 320 between tanks. Shouldn't I be getting better mileage in my ek than 215? I don't beat on the car. It's pretty low so I just cruise. What are you guys getting for mileage?

Do you have bigger wheels and tires?
Next time fill it up (make sure it is full) Then drive for say 3/4 of a tank, reset your odometer, go back and fill again. Look at the pump and get the gallons filled write it down.
Take the odometer number and divide by the gallons, that is your true MPG, do not go off the gauge being 1/2 down etc and look at the odometer.

I once had a siezed up wheel on my old civic and never new it. Got it freed and wow, seemed like i had 15 extra hp.
If you get below 300 miles a full tank then get a check up.
Yeah you need to divide the mileage you drive by the gallons you used next time you fill up. For example my 95 Civic Dx today was reading below the red line on the gas guage, but when I filled it up it only took 8.5 gallons...and my tank is 11 or so.
p.s. I get about 40mpg highway...its very lovely.

I have a GSR swap and I'm getting around 29 mpg (approx 300 miles for a tank). Check your mileage as stated and get back to us. If you're only getting 215 to a full tank as you claim then there is definitely something wrong.
reset your odo when you fill to the top
once its time for a fill see how many gallons you used and divide that by the miles driven.
Last week I went on an all highway trip and got 328 miles with 8.1 gallons. Thats 40mpgs on a bone stock 99 ex 5speed thats in need of a tune up.

I get about 250 a tank on city driving but I'm a young kid and don't watch how I drive so I suck gas a lot but when I drive normal with mixed city an d highway I avg about 330ish to a tank
On my 2000 Civic EX 4AT I got 32.158MPG last tank. 345.7mi driven & 10.75gal. to fill ( 345.7/10.75=32.158). I had the cruise set @ 80MPH and was using the A/C. I have been averaging 29-35MPG depending on VTEC use, A/C on/off, and city vs hwy miles. The best MPG I have got was 38.6 about three years ago. Car currently has 148,5xx miles.
