Tire rubbing on only 1 tire.
Today I finally got my suspension done on my 89 crx si. I went with 250 rates all around on ground control springs and Koni yellows. The car is only driven as a daily driver would be. I don't take it to the track or even race around on the streets. I've also got a skunk2 front camber kit and a no-name brand rear camber kit.
The gap I set the car at is 1/2". When I got the car on the road I immediately heard ONLY the passenger side tires rubbing when I hit every bump. The passenger tires, front and rear, also rub really bad when I turn left or go around a curve to the left. No rubbing happens when I turn right/take right curves. It doesn't matter if I'm going 5mph out of the gas station or 55mph around a semi-sharp curve, the passenger side front and rear tires would rub every time.
So I pull over and adjust all the shocks to full firm. This takes care of the front passenger side rubbing, but the rear passenger side still rubs when I turn sharply to the left or hit a big bump in the road. Also, when someone sits int he passenger side, the car will almost constantly rub, even on bumps you can barely see.
I've looked for protruding pieces around the rear passenger tire and I don't see any. The passenger rear shock doesn't seem to be leaking any type of fluid either.
One area of concern is that my passenger side rear tire sticks out farther than the driver side rear tire.. maybe that has something to do with it? Also, the rear camber kit on the car seems to adjust differently for each side. The driver side rear camber kit, when adjusted, shows two threads where it was adjusted, whereas the other rear tire shows 3 threads.
Any ideas on what's causing only the rear passenger side tire to rub so badly? If it has something to with it protruding farther out than the rest of the wheels, what could cause this?
Thanks in advance.
