Hello everyone,

i just picked up a 2000 SI With a 2001 Gsr. I am trying to BARD the motor to the car so i dont have any problems with in in the future. but I noticed that he was running a P2 ecu instead of the p72 ecu. Im fixing minor sensor issues that popped up on the scanner.

Do you know which route i need to take to get this car smogged and passed by the state ref

I personally would obtain a P72 ecu from a 2000-2001 gsr usdm obd2b.
The ref can check to make sure the right ecu is present for the engine to be barred.
That is the rules at least and would garuntee all of the emmisions assesories are operating correctly.
stock airbox,
stock exhaust throughout,
all evap, sensors, and assesories present and working under control by the above stated ecu with no faults, "check engine light" present.

when all is said and done the only thing you should be hearing under that hood while the motor is running is injectors clicking.
kinda like a bone stock gsr right off the lot.
