Default Touchy Takeoff

If I give a little "too much" gas when taking off from 1st gear the front end seems to bounce, almost as if the tires are trying to spin or something. Could this be caused by the tires hitting the fender in the front when the tires spin a little, as the car does sit crazy low?

Other thoughts I have had would be possibly an engine mount? But seems like I would know for sure if a mount was broke.

IDK... Any input out there?

I think you might be letting go of your clutch too soon.

What exactly is too much? And how fast are you letting out the clutch? By bounce do you mean like shutter and almost stall or like wheel hop?

If you're talking about wheel hop, upgrading your motor mounts should help.

You shouldn't have to touch the gas at all, in take off if your clutch is in good shape.

Er what? I don't know about you but when you let up the clutch and DO NOT give it gas the car will die. Now if it's an automatic that's a different story.

Get under the car and inspect tie rods, bushings and ball joints.

Your car should start moving but, it won't be enough momentum to keep you from stalling without applying gas.

My car lurches hard and dies if that's what you people are calling "moving".

I am going to go with the wheel hop... its not really a shutter at all. There is very little room between my fender and the tire... you really cant get the tip of your finger between. Could raising the suspension a bit help with this?

As far as letting off the clutch too fast, you barely have to let off the clutch as it is to engage the gear, it just seems like there is a pretty fine line between a smooth takeoff and the "wheel hop" (if thats what it is) when it comes to the accelerator pedal.

You have not clearly described what the problem is. We're left guessing if it's unclear what the problem is.

After reading your OP again it sounds like wheel hop.

But after reading this it sounds more like clutch chatter.

Sorry for all the confusion, its pretty unclear to me still exactly what is going on with it. I will try to be as clear as I possibly can be in future post.
