Car 91 std hatch
Motor d16y7
Problem
Iv noticed my fan never kicks on
the car doesn't over heat
And I'm getting power to both the fan connector and to the coolant temp switch
My fan works iv wired it to bayyery to check
Would weather play a role in this where I live it stays in the 30s

Yeah I've heard of people in real cold weather saying the same thing that their fan hardly ever kicked on. There was one guy sometime last year, I think that lived in Canada somewhere and said he didn't ever put a fan on his car and he had no issue.

Fuhhhhhh this doesn't worry me too much around town driving but I'm planning to go to socal in a few weeks and that worries me
vem the y7 was built to run with less total capacity of coolant than our chassis provides the big 88-91 radiator could be playing a role in your problem ...its a pretty efficient system my z6 hardly ever trips the fan on even in the summer time

I had the same problem, so instead of trying to make it work I just wired it up to a toggle switch. Some guys don't like that but at least I know its running. Hooked it up straight from the battery with a fuse in the line. Haven't blown the fuse or have had any problems.
