History :

motor work/ replaced 2012 old one failed due to lack of oil maintenance Installed knock sensor engine did not have one installed. Done by private person. Second-hand motor purchased junk yard.

After work on engine A/T will not shift,no forward in D4, clunk when shifting from P,take off in second. RPM must hit 4000 before no clunk P2-P3
Check engine light on, Jumper test flashes 1 long and 6 short then pause. Without jumper key on light blinks once then remains on. Shift lever hard to engage, adjusted and cleaned , works. Light still out in D4 all others okay. Sometimes surging at start and accelerator sticking.HELP!!!anyone

 

Check to make sure torque converter bolts and tranny bolts are tight and secure

 

got tranny check shop says linear soloniod pulled code 1768 says trannys ok for now. think it's possible to replace myself?

 

It's easy enough to replace, it just bolts to the front of the tranny. Unless it got damaged during the engine installation I somehow doubt this is the cause of your problems.

 

I'd be kicking in the door of this "private person" demanding an explanation as to why they thought the condition it's in was ok when they finished the job!
