i replaced my steering wheel with an aftermarket wheel and just replaced my stereo ( not sure how relevant these are), the light behind the cluster went out i cant see my speedometer at night i checked the fuses one was bad and i replaced it and it still dosent work any suggestions?

 

Dimmer switch just happened to me not to long ago

You can get one from a junk yard.

It's also worth pulling your cluster and checking the bulbs to make sure they didn't blow out when the fuse went.

 

Dimmer switch is like a 2 min fix pop out the holder unplug swap with new one about back in. What was the fuse that was blown and does your cluster lights work(turn signal,ect.)

 

umm the fuse that was blown was number 30. i dont have the cover for the interior fuse box so i pulled it up online. it was the "Dash lights" fuse and yeah the turn signals and check engine and oil light all those light up still.

No, by dimmer switch we mean this one if you have a 92-95, or this one if you have a 96-00.

 

yeah i have a 96-00 but awesome thank you i can most likely get that at autozone also right?

 

From the looks of it, the only thing Autozone has listed under a search for "dimmer" is the switch you linked previously, which isn't what you need. Personally, I'd just snag one either out of a junk yard, or off eBay.

 

im pretty sure its not the dimmer because same thing happened to me when i put in a stereo and when i went to go get my alarm installed, the guy had said i grounded a wire that had an electric current on it which apperently caused a short circuit. idk exactly how he fixed it but he did mention something about a relay and im sure he didnt replace the dimmer cuz it still works and its the same one. just tryna save you a few bucks by giving you my two cents.
