92-95 throttle cable on 96-00
Does anyone know if a throttle cable from a 92 civic 4 door non vtec will fit a 97 civic coupe non vtec? I got one from the junkyard cuz they didnt have one for my car. They look almost identical, im goin to try and install it now, but is there any chance i might damage the motor or throttle body?
No it doesn't fit. The '96 - '00 Non-vtec cables are long, because the loop way around, nothing else fits, coupe/hatch/sedan are all the same though. Btw a new cable from honda is only $20 - $30.
Yeah i realized that while i was installing it. So vtec cables are different than non vtec though? Because all the cables on ebay are for EX's but if they are really that cheap from honda that is awesome. They are like 40 bux used on ebay. I need one really bad though mine is going to snap any day now and now my throttle feels really weird, im lacking serious power lol not that i had it but it just feels weird since the cable is so frayed. In the main part on the throttle lever the cable is down to the core wire if you know what i mean.
Here's the part number for the cable you need:
17910-S01-G03 008 001 WIRE, THROTTLE
Lists for $20.18 Majestic Honda wants $14.13 Everyone assumes new throttle cables are worth big money but they're not.
