So its only kicked once?
Maybe it didn't kick, maybe you were just hearing things.
Not trying to be funny or anything...but just saying.
But I'm pretty sure that a bad VSS will cause vtec not to kick.
Check that link I posted.

no it kicked in more than once but very late with a different computer so i got another one and didnt pop again
Sounds weird man. Kicking in late? And then swapped an ECU and now it doesn't work at all?
Maybe someone else will chime in, but just go through that link I posted. I'll check back tomorrow and see whats up....I gotta hit the hay!

check resistance on your solenoid it should be from 12-20 ohms or something like that i forget atm..or remove the solenoid connect a wire to it and to a voltage source for just 1 sec(i actually mean 1 second or you'll fry it) and listen to see if it clicks..then check the vtec wire from solenoid to pcm to see if its still good..not enough oil pressure or the vtec piece being clogged with sludge could be other factors... well good luck
Rocker arm cover oil pluges? Maybe ... Clogged filter screen? Maybe when v-tec gos to engage then ur stuck with a ground over load? The dizzy could be bad, from the v-tec rpm range / oil pressure ? Just thoughts
Use a jumper to test v-tec as a constant current
flow see if it works then back track!

Maybe you did a half *** swap? The car is probably completly hacked up. You proabably did NO maintaince to the motor before it went in. You aren't running the correct ECU for the motor. You have a CEL on.
Once everything is done correctly I'm sure VTEC will ACTIVATE/ENGAGE, not "pop"
At the very least fix the VSS, and run the ECU for that motor. Did your internal dyno tell you to set VTEC at 5k?
