My girlfriend got a DIY remote start for her 2006 honda accord, and being the amazing (sucker) boyfriend that i am i agreed to install it. i'm one wire away from connecting this thing and firing it up so that it will start for her. my major problem is i can not find the wire to hook up for the tach signal. i need one that all the diagrams have said isn't a "black/white or all black" wire. if anyone has installed one or knows what wire i'm looking for that would be amazing for me as i will not hear the end of this until i get this done.

 

wow 138 people have viewed this and nobody knows what the answer is? times have changed from when i was in high school and i could just ask a buddy in gym class. i thought for sure someone on the honda-tech site would know what i'm talking about...

You are in the wrong section, you should go to the audio section, this general tech.

The answer: Any wire NOT BLACK/WHITE or BLACK (AC) it would be at any ignition coil

If you googled it you would find it.

 

it isn't an audio instillation and oh my god are you seriously recommending that i try to look up on google this information... if it was that simple i would have figured it out... the spark plug wires lead to the ignition coil... there are 100 wires coming out of the thing... how about a better answer than exactly what i already know!

 

tach signal is located at the PCM at the front floor of the center console. remove plastic cover on the passenger side to expose the connectors. on the 4cylinder use blue/red at pin 25 of the white plug. on the V6 blue at pin 23 of the gray plug.
