Header does not match up to exhaust?
I have a 1994 Honda Civic Si that was recently bought for my first car got it for cheap but this car had so many problems it was crazy anyway the oil pump went out and the engine blew my car is now at a shop and my mechanic has got a new engine to swap with this engine is a D16 with Vtec and came with OBX racing type r racing header, now from what i was told the exhaust is a little to high for the header to sit on correctly. I would like to know what options he has on putting it on correctly without cutting and welding the pipe. Im not to good with this thing so explinashons would be great! Thanks
well there's not much else you can do to make it fit properly other than cut and weld, you gotta expect that when swapping in different car's parts
I'm not 100% sure but i have been reading around and i found a site that said the stock exhaust on my car is 10" to high. and i Went by the shop today and my car was up on the lift and my old engine was out and on the ground. I told him to call me if he could not get the header on. and he never called. Most likely he cut and welded i guess. Sorry i'm just starting to learn about cars and what not. No one at any of the other "civic" forums would even answer my question. Thank you for your reply's.

It's probably too short to reach the cat, in which 99% it is..just buy an adjustable testpipe or have the shop weld a piece of exhaust piping to fix the gap.
It's been awhile, But i ended up buying a header with the downpipe to fit my car off ebay, Used there down pipe and my header and everything fit just fine, I was expecting problems with the ebay downpipe but the quality is actually really good. But i can't say the same for the header. it looks like it has a crack in the weld
