Default Should i go for this?

I currently have an automatic 95 civic ex sedan, but i really want a hatch as a project car to replace the sedan
The sedan as is now:

I found a 95eg manual like i want, its got 180k on the chassis, and 100k on the motor approx, was swapped but now has a d series in it with all the papers forthe swap thats in it, its lowered a bit on skunk2 coilovers of somesort it needs a rear bumper and a quarter panel but im ready to fix that and eventually get it painted, he wants $1200 i told him I would give him $1k and he keeps the wheels, just gotta get dad to approve the motor trans and then ill be able to get it, though i think he'll say no because it needs body work but ill talk to him

Wrong section and the hatch looks like sh*t unless he hands cash ontop than no u must be retarded to do that if u want a manual it will cost u 200 bucks for everything if u get most of ur parts from a junkyard besides the tranny and clutch takes 8 hrs if u slack

I don't think he is trading. I think he wants to buy that car and keep his sedan? I would give the guy $500 for the hatch. Its in pretty rough shape

id stick with the 4dr it looks 10x better than that hatch which looks like ****. just do the auto to manual conversion on the sedan. its pretty easy

well i got 3k in the sedan that im paying off plus 3k i paid for 6k total, so i really dont have cash atm to put into the sedan, lno way id trade my sedan for that, im looking for a project car anyway, engine and trans in the car is ok, and hes throwing in a clutch and trans extra, some other random interior crap, and a spare bumper even tho its a diff color and has diffusers, but its not cut up...

i wouldve posted in the correct section if i had seen that, sorry

Paying off one car and looking for a project to build but you don't have cash to put into the car you have?

Makes perfect sense to me.

well i owe around 2k on my car to my dad currently, most of my paycheck goes towards that, and i know for a fact i could getr 3k on my car so pay dad back 1k, spend 1k on the car, and put another 1k into parts for it...

1k of parts? I see you plan on shopping a lot on Ebay for no-name knock-off parts.

well by parts i mean replace bumper, quarter panels, head and tail lights and a stereo, then keep it that way for a while, ohh and maybe a paintjob if i can get a good price...then im gonna wait and save til july or so when im not gonna need the car as much to swap the motor, that also gives me time to decide what swap to do and time to calculate how much to save to do it right

I propose you show some patience and pay off the car you have, keep it and then look for a project car. Because if you ever do get into working on a project you may need a running vehicle during periods of down time.

ive been toying with that idea too recently, save upa bit more and just get the hatch as a second car, no registration or anything and slowly build it and then dont have to worry about driving it, hopefully ill do good on my bday and ill be able to find a shell with no engine for like 500 or whatever...

1k is the right price but there is a huge difference between a $1k Honda and a $2k Honda

I'm telling you. Having a second vehicle makes working on either one of them much more convenient.

he did make it a little obvious... Usually we have to look at the IP addresses.

If he can behave we'll be glad to have him around.

OP: I would stick with your current car, pay it off, and go from there.

The last thing you want is someone elses project. Trust me. Your sedan looks $1000 cleaner for sure. Now, if you just don't like sedans, that's different.

Starting from scratch is sometimes the cheapest way to go if you have the time, skill, and fortitude to build a car from the ground up.

I think ill talk the guy down on the black hatch since its got 135k then ill put the rest that i get for the sedan to my dad to help pay it off and eventually get a shell to slowly build...ill see if the guy has the stock hood and if hed give it to me so i can sell the carbon one...and also i just dislike yhe sedan...

Not to thread jack but, an auto to manual swap cost $200 bucks if you have the tranny?
