has your civic ever failed a smog check?
I just had to get my old civic smog checked again to get my california registration renewed. We have to do it every two years. So I spend an hour of my time and $50 bucks. The smog guy said he's never seen a civic fail. So is it just a waste of money? I know it's the law, but I'm just ranting.
Has anyone ever failed?
Has anyone ever failed?

But do the modifiers here live in states that don't have smog checks, or do they temporarily undo the engine modifications each time they need a smog check?
By the way, I'll rephrase my question... has anyone with a STOCK civic ever failed a smog check?
I had my 100% stock civic fail when I first got it, and my current moderately/heavily rebuilt civic pass. Seems you have a false impression that they automatically fail when modified and automatically pass if stock.

Hey everyone. I have a question about smog can anyone please help. I have a 93 si hatch that hasint passed smog Like 3 times in a row now. I replaced the cat 02 sensor new oil and the car feels great when I drive it. My Check engine lite works for sure and it doesint come on to tell me I have any codes. I also have found the plug at the kick pannel to force codes but nothing shows up. When at the smog shop the guy told me that the car is runnig to rich or to lean. Does anyone else know what could be up and what's the best way to reset the ecu.
