97 Del Sol Build or Not.
I hate "Should I do this" threads, but I've been kicking this idea around long enough I need to push myself to do it or just forget about it. Mostly just talking to myself, but I'd appreciate input.
I have a 97 Del Sol Si shell that had an auto trans and I am thinking of converting it to a 5 speed B20B build. I've been wanting to do a B20B Del Sol. I have a good running 93 S with a modded D15 and 5 speed (red) I could do the swap in, but I hate taking a good running D out to do it.
I'll be selling off a bone stock (blue) Del Sol S soon and that will probably free up enough "hobby money" to get the funding.
Problems:
The shell was driven hard and could use all new bushings
Body has minor flaws and old collision repair (fender and door)
I hate the red interior
Air Bag on dash is gone/covered over badly
I pulled some of the A/C parts (Could be a plus for the swap)
Enough Time to do it right
Do I really need *that many* Del Sols
Pluses:
I have the parts for the auto to 5-speed swap already (from a 93 Si)
If it comes out good I can sell the other red one
It's a 97. Somehow that seems much newer than a 93
There is no rush to get it done
Already lowered
I have a new bumper cover
The '97 (and a 95 that I plan to restore for the wife):

The Others, 2 '93s (black is my economy D15Z1 car) and a '94:

if you don't need that many del sols i sure do.
otherwise yes build it. get rid of half of whats on it. replace the interior. another fun del sol to drive and saved from a junkyard.
