Hey guys, few questions regarding the removal of the evap system. I have to use the purge solenoid circuit for activation of a system running on secondary maps in ectune as I have no other available switches to use. I want to do this safely and properly rather then the ricer method. Obviously you cant close the tank venting off completely as it needs to vent for saftey reasons, and you dont want to vent back into the intake constantly. So im trying to figure out a safe way to vent to atmosphere, using either a tip over valve or a check valve or something. Has anyone had any experience with this before? I dont want to run anything close to the exhaust or supercharger assembly.
Since I assume you want to remove it completely: All you need to do is vent it to atmosphere. Run a hose up higher in the engine bay. You could also purchase an "air stone" or some other type of "filter" to run on the end of it. There is a possibility the smell of gas could be present due to the nature of the system. Obviously this isn't "emissions acceptable" due to the nature of the system; to vent the gas tank while not letting the "harmful" vapors escape directly into the atmosphere. Depending on how you want to do it (delete the charcoal canister or not) will determine what you will do with the lines (if you wanted to leave it installed).
I have used this method many times.

If you just take out the charcoal canister and cap the line there is a pressure relief valve in the tank. It will make a honking noise when it releases pressure from the tank. Leaving it uncapped will make your engine bay smell like gas.
Where do you think the outlet of the 2-way valve goes? HAHA... Capping the EVAP line would be bad and wouldn't allow the tank to vent pressure at all.
Well pressure does vent somewhere back by the fuel tank. I have worked on cars that have that capped and when the tank builds pressure you can hear it "blow off"
you also dont want to create a vacuum in the tank. I deleted all of the stuff off my old stock tank a while back, then we welded on a hose nipple and ran a hose for a foot or so and put one of those little valve cover filters on the end.

what if I just cap the two extra hoses going to my d15b vtec that went to the old d15b2 engine. Or could you just put a filter on them, unplug it and call it a day!?
