just wondering what the distance from the center of the headlight is to the ground on the 97 spec ITR ...
reason for asking is i have an 01 GSR that i replaced the springs w/ 97 ITR springs and kyb agx shocks.. well, i got yanked by a CHP today telling me my car is too low.. head lights measure 21" and below 22" is illegal..

the back seems to sit about right, but the front does sit kinda low for stock ITR springs ..

 

Holly Christ! 131 views and no answer(s). None of the ITRs on here still seat on stock suspensions and tires? Mine co-worker's R is still in stock form. Let me see if I can run out to the parking lot and take the measurement for ya.

 

Ha! There goes half of my break time His stock R measured 22.5 inches. Before you ask, this guy's R is nothing but stock. The only measurement not stock is the width of the tires which went from 195 stock to 205.

 

hey, thanks a lot!! now the big question is.. why is this OEM suspension sitting raked? i'm 1.5" shorter in front than what it should be

not too concerned about the CHP write-off as my fiance's uncle is CHP.. just want it to sit normal, i hate the raked look

 

What does Cali law say about the height of the headlights?

I ask because I see a lot of lowered/slammed cars on this board from there.

 

i was basically profiled for driving an import... stock wheels, stock everything but suspension and its not even low.. he just felt like f$%^ing w/ me.. started giving me a hard time about my niece in the back seat too.. said her seat wasnt the proper one for her.. i asked her mom later and she told me it was.. the dude was just a douchebag

 

Two things come to mind on stuff like this.....1, do you want to be a cop just to cover your own insecurity issues and bully ppl around? 2, if the 1st one isn't true then what the heck are they teaching these guys in training?!!! I try to speak to cops of all kinds out of respect for their duty and the idiots they have to contend with but if you just turn your nose up at me like I'm not worth speaking back to the go jump in the lake!!! Sorry for the rant but I'm sick of them too!

Very true, it's just the "D" bags that give the others such a bad rap. I can at least say this for my local county cops that patrol my area here in the sticks. If they stop you, more than likely you have done something irately stupid. If you get a ticket for speeding, you weren't speeding, you were flying lol. They know who most of the trouble makers are in the area and that's the ones they keep a close eye on.
