Default need help on race suit sizing

I am currently in the market to purchase a leather 1 piece suit. I'm looking at the Alpinestars trigger suit. The suit is offered in a standard size and also a "short" version which is 2" shorter on the legs, torso and half inch off the arms. I'm 5'3" and 128lbs athletic build. I was wondering if the size 38US in the short version would be larger than the size 36US regular version. I am not able to find a 36US "short" version anywhere. Please advise. Thanks.

The best bet is trying them on at a shop.

Pilot leathers will send you a suit to try on, and pay for all shipping.

yes... it will be larger in the torso and more importantly along the back, but the sleeves and legs might be the same length.

as stated, best bet is to try one one first.

One additional thing, most manufacturers will give you the parameters to measure yourself so you can correctly identify the suit that will fit your needs. go out and invest a buck in a fabric tape measure and measure yourself according to the makers specs.

One thing this WON'T do, while this will get you a suit that fits, it doesn't tell you if the suit fits your preferences. Some folks like there suits snug, some like them loosey goosey... you wont know until you live in a suit for a bit. Specially on a hot day or over a long ride.

personally, I like SLIGHTLY loose... but there is a safety issue with the suit being overly loose.
