Need Help getting correct jacket size...
Im trying to get myself a nice good/protective/visually appealing jacket, but most of the stuff i have been able to try on(a couple days ago at powersports in falls church) isnt size well for someone who is 6'4" 205. either the chest is right and the arms are too short, arms right and chest huge(like a balloon), or arms/chest mostly right and its exposting half of my back when i get on a bike.
i was just in the DC area for 1 week and was only able to try on some joe rocket and fieldsheer stuff. i was hoping to find a TZ-1 to try on(thats the jacket i would like, if it fits), but they didnt stock them.
anyone with recommendations who may be close to my same height/build for sizing?

Try to find a shop that has Joe Rocket. They are built for americans, tall and lanky. Companies like Spidi are made for the short Italian riders. Good luck.
Actually, my Joe Rocket jacket doesn't fit all the greatest... sleeves of the jacket fit just about perfect, but the length is way too short.
Same here I've got a joe rocket textile and its a tad too short on me . . . then again I'm not lanky in the least bit . . . I do have a joe rocket blaster (leather) though, and it fits perfectly. Arm length is perfect when I'm on my bike holding the bars, but long when I'm standing up straight, which is the desired result anyway
I have heard Joe Rocket referred to as "sh*tbox" from a couple different people. How is your JR gear holding up? I personally have Spidi 2pc leathers and I have no complaints.
I have my doubts as to whether my textile would hold up if I were sliding across concrete. My leather on the other hand feels awesome, is very comfortable, and it feels just as sturdy and tough as my buddy's alpinestars . . .

I would have to disagree. Cut for americans, yes. But not tall and lanky americans. More like tall and beer bellied americans. Tall and lanky is italian territory. Teknic might fit in a pinch (the lightning series is cut a little slimmer than the rest).

http://www.zcustoms.com Best way to go. Otherwise, just go into your local shop and just try on different gear. Buy it tight, so you can stretch it out.
i have a teknic leather jacket. The sleeves are big while the length is good. My elbows look retarded when i'm not bending them 90 degrees.
The tz-1's a good choice-good bang for the buck, also a-stars are usually a size larger than american companies cuts. Just a heads up for you, I wore a 44 in vanson which was snug so I ordered the same in the a-stars and it's about a size too big, long arms, big chest/belly area.
Belstaff makes some very nice jackets, and so does First Gear. If you want a *really* nice jacket that you can get in a custom size, check out Vanson Leathers - none finer.

JR is big. Baggy sleeves for the tricep fat and belly bubble for the gut. Not terribly tall fitting though. I've never seen anyone w/ JR stuff the really fit right. Well enough, sure but not perfect. I'm not talking custom fit but there is always one aspect that is off.
I know it's not cheap, but I just bought a Dainese jacket and pants combo. I can't begin to tell you how well their products fit and feel. Well worth the extra money in my book...
Even better when you get it on sale @ 25% off from cycle gear!!!!
My jacket was actually 35% off because it's a discontinued item. YEA ME!!!!!
